Boundaries Are the Architecture
Limits are not the edges of the experience. They are the walls that make the room possible.
Without walls, a house is just weather. Boundaries work the same way. They define the space in which trust can grow.
There are hard limits — things that are never on the table — and soft limits, which may shift with time and trust. Both deserve to be spoken aloud before anything begins.
A good dynamic does not test boundaries for sport. It honours them so reliably that the person on the other side stops bracing, and starts to breathe.
If someone treats your limits as a challenge, they have misunderstood the entire point.
